Worship God All week long

As part of last Sunday's sermon we learned from Numbers 28-29 the wisdom of daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal patterns of worship to help us avoid worshiping things other than God.  We looked at a couple of questions and brainstormed our responses.  Here they are:

What things can we tempted to worship, revere, or place too much importance in?

Food
Football
Car
Possessions
Money
Career
Leisure
Furniture
Business
Clothes
Shoes
Fitness
Sex
Fame
Family
Golf
Tennis

What different things could we do today to permeate our lives with Worship of God?

Pray with children before meals
Go on a retreat
Read bible daily
Be part of a small group
Accountability group
Learn to celebrate
Go to a conference
Church camps
Being thankful to God
Easter and Christmas as worship times
Monthly prayer meetings
Set your digital watch to chime on the hour or at times during the day and spend a few moments telling God you love Him in the middle of what else you are doing
Join in with recorded worship music on your ipod.

What are you vulnerable to and what positive thing are you going to do permeate your life with worship.  Who will you ask to keep you accountable to your plan?

Any more suggestions to either question or reports on how you are going with your choices - add a comment.

Last night, Wednesday, our Home Group met together for the first time this year. We had a meal together and we have 4 new people join us. We have decided to do a study on the Psalms, and as we only fortnightly and have school holidays off it will take us most of the year to finish our study, but I am very excited about our group and what we are going to learn about prayer and growing closer to God.
