Examples of the Five Fold ministries in the NT

We have finished our sermon series on the Five Fold ministries from Ephesians 4.  (Sermon recordings can be found through the home page).

In the sermons we looked at New Testament examples of each of the ministries.  We highlighted at least one male and one female for each ministry.  In some cases there wasn't much detail, but we included them to emphasize the point that these ministries are for everyone - not jus one gender and not just for 'superstars'.

Apostle:   Paul (Romans 1514-29, Acts 16:6-10), Junia (Romans 16:7)
Prophet:  Simeon and Anna (Luke 2:22-40) Agabus (Acts 11:27-30, 21:10-16), Philip's daughters (Acts 21:9)
Evangelist: Woman at the Well (John 4:28-42), Philip (Acts 8:4-8, 26-40)
Shepherd (Pastor): Tabitha (Acts 9:36-43), Barnabas (Acts 9:23-30, 11:22-26)
Teacher: Priscilla and Apollos (Acts 18:1-4,9-11, 11-28)

I encourage you to read these passages, think about which of these people you most closely relate to, and think about which of these five ministries might be your strongest.  Then speak to some people who know you well to get their take on which of the five is your strongest ministry.
